I went to the grocery store Friday afternoon. While I was picking the ground beef I saw this, a patty mold. I been looking for this thing for a long time because I like making my own patties. I found out Saturday that I need to really press the ground beef together so that they stick together. My first batch did not turn that well because they kept breaking when I turn it on the grill. It was a messed. The second batch I tried so hard to press together. Then it was hard to get it out of the press. I had to run a knife around the side to get it out. Maybe next time I will put a plastic wrap on the press for easy removal.

This one actually is not what I wanted. However, for now this one will do because I don't have any money to buy the metal one. It does the job and I can make my own patties. I will experiment with the patties next time maybe add some ingredients that I like with it. DH likes his hamburger plain with only ketchup. Sometimes I like a change, it may not be for the good but trying new flavor to know if I like it or not.

The patty press sounds like a good idea. You might be able to spray it with pam or a little vegetable oil.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip, grampy. I will try that next time.
