Safari Photo Shoots Game
This was given to my Kindergartner from his grandparents. What happened to regular shooting game? Oh that, they don't want to teach the kids to shoot animals for fun. When you teach your children the correct way, they would see it when they grow up that killing animals for fun is not right. They learn from the adult around them. And those people who are very religious, but after church services, they do things that they are not supposed to, yeah, a very good example to learn from.
By the way, they already pulled some of the animals out. This is a pretty boring game for any of my kids. I am glad it's almost done, I can't wait to put that thing in the garbage. Mind you, they got it on Sunday. Their grandparents finally made it for Christmas gathering.

EyeClops Night Vision
We bought two of this for the two older boys. My FIL actually wanted to buy another two for our youngest and only DD, but we opt not to. They just need to learn how to share their toys. It works the way they say it works. The only thing we don't like as parents about it is, the rubber attachment comes off very easy, it's very light that when someone dropped it, we think it will burst into so many pieces. It takes small batteries meaning we need to change it often, we wish they could have put a 9 volt or D batteries instead. And lastly, the fact that we can never anything that is made in our own country anymore.
It's a toy, kids love playing with it when they turn off all the light in the house and walking in the dark with it. We wish to be made so far away that they would even make it hard to brake and last longer. I guess everything now is very easy to brake to collect more money from consumers. Yes, we should not buy anything we don't want, but for the price of $50, our kids smile are priceless and we already got what it's worth from their smiles.

For Everyone
A Christmas Prayer
Loving God, Help us remember the birth of Jesus,
that we may share in the song of the angels,
the gladness of the shepherds,
and worship of the wise men.
Close the door of hate
and open the door of love all over the world.
Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting.
Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings,
and teach us to be merry with clear hearts.
May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children,
and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts,
forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus' sake. Amen.

Beginning Reader's Book (Rebus)
DD is in love with this kind books. I don't even have to read it to her first, she just do it herself. We are going back to library on the 29th to return some books and I think I will find one just like this one for her. She even teach her younger brother to read it. Yes, my little mother wanna be. Quite scary for a 6 years old girl, I don't want to grow up so fast. I want her to enjoy being a little girl. But then again she copies everything she sees I do.
I will recommend this if you have a child who just started to read. What a great idea for a book for children. That would make my job easier...lol. Then it dawn on me, how this will help when try writing the the words for the picture?... I think that would me very messy. Anyway, I think this one can be only use for reading.

All In One Printer, Scanner, Copier
We have been using Deskjet E4280 when the school year started this year. This is also a space saver, you can tell by the title, right?...lol. This is good enough to use for your children school works. My Kindergartner seems to use this a lot lately. We print little books for his live lessons and all his assignments need to be scan and send in with the lesson attachments.
DD have used this a lot for a month also from the other cyber school. We switched school the second month and got the same thing from the other school. We only use this one for her when she wanted to do extra coloring pages when she feels like doing extra. She also gets a live lessons every Monday and once a month conference from her school adviser to check if she is really learning anything.
Quickly print and copy documents, 26 PPM Black, 20 PPM Color
High-quality color scanning, 1200x2400 dpi, 1 200x2 400 ppp
Print more usable web pages, HP Smart Web Printing
Easily scan thick materials, removable scan cover

Pixxo Laser Mouse
We found a really good deal with this mouse and we bought 3 of them for the gamers in the house. One site was selling this for $5.99 each however, they ran out and we got it for $11.00 from another site with free shipping. DH love the reviews people left for this one. ML-G135 is a laser mouse and you have to set the user's control in your computer. You can't go wrong with the price plus we got the free shipping.

No SLS/Fluoride Toothpaste
Yes, I know I am ashamed because I (my family) had been using the below toothpaste for a very long time. I can't even remember when was the last time I use any other brand. We are finally feed up with everything bad they are putting into it. I usually buy it from BJ's, packs of them and today was the end of it.
I went to our local health store and bought the all natural no fluoride toothpaste. Sad to say but this one I bought still have SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) in them. I thought I only have to buy one with no fluoride then I research online when I got home and found out the above ingredient is bad for us.
Maybe someone can tell me which one they use with no SLS and no fluoride. I know TOM's is very popular but I rather not go to that route because I heard bad things about them. They used to be good until the owner sold it and turn into a corporation. I bought the Desert Essence toothpaste. Three of my kids and I already tried it and it wasn't that bad. It smell like licorice and there is a little minty after taste.
Please if you know anything better or you been using for a while let me know. As long as they are fluoride free and SLS free let me know. THank you in advance.

Children Shows
I was meant to post this a long time ago but I have other things to post which will not make my blood boil just writing it. Anyway, since we have 3 days off from my kids lessons this week I decided to do it today.
Mickey Mouse Club House is very popular. I do not watch that much TV shows and even if I watch something I can never finish watching it until the end. I was cooking something and I was able to see the TV in the kitchen. This is not actually the very first time it happens or the same episode was shown but this time it just click in my brain.
Big Pete the cat appeared from nowhere when Mickey Mouse and the other trying to go somewhere and telling them to pass they need to pay. I was like...wow! Who the hell is he to just tell everyone that they need to pay a tax just by passing certain path. The same thing when Figaro was hungry and they are trying to go to the lake and catch some fish. That is a very mess up show. They are starting little kids that it's ok to pay tax for things that is natural free.
I wish my TV will break and we will never buy a new one again. That is so cleaver the way they are brainwashing our kids. I know not every mother think like me, but hey I wanted to be free. I don't want to pay anything that is un-constitutional just because some said so that I have to do it. No way, common law here. If I think that is wrong, it is wrong.
Does any of your cable TV offer channels that are somewhat good for children? I could pick all the channels I wanted but that will cost me a lot. And no, lower channels is not appropriate for us either. They are just a bunch of money sucking corporation and do not care what show they broadcast. And don't even get me started with with the global warming show on discovery or history. They are just way off, and what did Al Gore said about himself? Yea, anyone who will buy that is an idiot and has no brain to think for themselves.
Ok, I'm done. Not really but this post is done.

Light Bulbs
Most of the light bulb in our house when we bought it was all incandescent. I think I remember changing them very often, especially in the winter because we use lights in the house a lot. I can't stand the gloomy days of winter and what better way to brighten my days but to turn the lights on.
Fluorescent was just picking up back then and we decided, even though it contains mercury that we will never buy another incandescent. And we have not, I love, love this lights, mostly the daylight bulbs. One of our light in the classroom is the daylight bulb, I tell you there is no dull moment in our classroom.
They are a little pricey than the regular ones, but I like it bright. I have one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen. We have a cheap chandelier in our dining room which takes special bulbs. I can never find anything nice enough and bright enough that goes there right now. I'm hoping maybe we can get some kind of LED bulbs for it.
Please do not tell me about taking care of my environment from mercury. There is a proper way of disposing this but if you tell me to pay to disposed it, you must crazy. Our next step is to use LED but we have not try any of them yet. Maybe we will look into it this winter, since DH will be home often and we have plenty of time to talk about this stuff.
Anyway, we have bigger/longer fluorescent bulbs down in our basement. It gets really sad down there when there is no sun out. I like the feeling of being outside under the clear sky. How about you? Have you switch to fluorescent lighting yet? DH tells me that they never get hot, not hot but warm enough that sometimes I can't touch them. Try it out, they last longer than the old incandescent however, we bought a few that did not last very long. But most of them last.

Folgers
At age 39 I had to drink one cup of coffee a day to keep up with my kids. If I don't I had to take a nap around 1pm to stay up until 10 in the evening. I have never drink coffee everyday and this year (2009) is the very first year I did this. When I was still working in the restaurant I only drink coffee when I don't have time to eat. I was much thinner then however, drinking coffee does not keep me up but as hunger suppressant. I don't have 15 minutes to spare to eat during busy hours and coffee is the fastest I could make. And I don't even know what kind of coffee we serve, there was no name brand, just grind coffee.
I had a coffee maker at home but never used it until I met my now husband. He is a coffee addict, he stops in every Wawa on his way to his job when we met. We both enjoy the #5 and #7 from them now. However, we both like our coffee with sugar and cream. When we finally bought some coffee we settled with Folgers. We like the mild, classic roasted and I always stock up when they are on sale. We just love the way it smell the very first time we open one.
And guess what? They are having a writing contest that will end in November 20, 2009 and you better put your entry in. Make sure you read the rules before entering. And here is the entry form. All you have to do is tell them "what is the best part of waking up at home during the holiday". You could win a 7 day/6 night round trip home, lodging, car rental, $1,000 spending money, digital camera and Folgers gift basket. Ok. I'm off to try it out myself. Good luck to everyone.

Pantene
Let me start by saying that I am not very proud using such shampoo filled with harsh chemical that will eventually ruin my hair. This is the only shampoo that I can find in my local grocery store that works with my hair. I used to buy some from a salon but those days are long gone and I rather spend the cash on something else.
It made my hair manageable and shiny. I wish I can the $1.00 once with fruits aroma but those makes my hair feel hard and my scalps very dry and itchy. Even my sister likes them when she came to visit me and forgot her own shampoo.
I still remember growing up in the boonies, when we run out of shampoo we use the local lemon that was growing in the backyard. We cut them in half and squeeze them in water. Just like making lemonade but we never add sugar to it. The oil from the lemon makes our hair very shiny and manageable. We usually wash our hair with body soap, then after rinsing from it we rinse our hair with the lemon mix then rinse it with water. It does not happen much because my mom usually goes to town once a week.Plus, if we are not careful the lemon mix goes in our eyes and that is very painful. Ahh, those are the days...lol.

Cyber Charter School (Part 2)
After doing a month on another cyber school other than K12 curriculum, we are definitely sold to K12. The materials are nothing compares to other. Harcourt is a little hard to follow and they are every where. They are not as organize as K12, that all we have to do is click on the link and we are there & no password to put in. Everything is lay out nicely and easy for students and parents to use.
All Math manipulative and Science materials (e.g. cylinder, iron, rocks, balance, thermometer etc.) are provided. My kids loves the Math manipulative like the connecting cubes, counting chips, wood geometrical objects. My Kindergartner was given a cardboard (Calvert) that we need to fold to these shapes. He belong in another cyber school. How cheap they can get and I am pretty sure each cyber school gets the same amount of funding.
We will enroll all of them under K12 curriculum next year. I am familiar with them and I can really say that if you are planning on teaching your children at home under cyber school this is the one. Especially if you are like me, who never done a traditional home schooling before.
Not only they are easy to follow, their customer service is amazing. You can call them 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Yes, you can speak to real live person about any questions you have. They offer their curriculum world wide with your expense of course.
I wanted to have a feel how other cyber school works and now I know. Nothing can beat K12 in my opinion. Other cyber school may have colorful text books but that's all it is.
I believe K12 have schools in every states. Other only have certain grades like Georgia. I think K12 only offered K-8 there from what I saw in their site. We are still trying to move down there and hopefully when we do, they have up to 12 grade added to it.

MS Office not Genuine after 2.5 Years
DH and I both have a copy of this when we went to one of MS launching location when they first came out. Since I am the one who use it the most I put it in my computer and gave the other one to our relatives. I set-up the OutLook for my local internet carrier email when i first install it. After all these years they came up with an update through Service Pack 2, after I update to it this stupid pop-up window kept on appearing telling me that my copy is not genuine.
DH even take off work that day so that we can get a copy for free. Mind you he lost a day pay with the same price as the regular copy when you buy in any electronic stores. So, what exactly they added to Service Pack 2 to make it that my genuine copy all of a sudden not genuine? I am so pissed.
I just started using the calendar feature on OutLook for my kids school as a reminder/appointment book. With so much schedule to meet with their school my cellphone can't keep up because if I am on a call I can't see their schedule and sometimes I schedule their appointments on top of each other. I was also so glad that the calendar make a "ding" sound with the reminder.
My time is very valuable and I don't time to call MS to be mad at them. So, I found a solution online posted under Digital Life. I tried a few of the suggestions but the stupid OGAAddin.dll notification keeps coming back even if I deleted it from the list under COM Add-ins. I went to the registry editor instead and delete all of them.
It made me so mad, that I think yelling at customer tech at MS is not suffice. I have an original copy damn it, and I don't have time to play games with them. I'm much happier now that the notification does not pop-up and telling me that I have such and such day to get a genuine. Mind you we don't have a CD, I downloaded my copy from the download site when the Office 2007 first came out. I only have the key code for it.
I know there are plenty of illegal copy out there, but come on don't they have enough money in the world. They want more than they can live off during their lifetime. I should just leave PC and use another type of computer and stop supporting this large corporations but PC is idiot proof. Why use other machine that I don't even know how, it just like driving a manual car. Why stress myself learn how to drive it, if I can easily drive an automatic? I know the logic, but why?
